James Anderson was born and raised in Bolton, Lancashire. After leaving school, he travelled widely before completing a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing at Liverpool John Moore University. Following his degree, he undertook his preceptorship in regional burns and plastics, later continuing his nursing career in cardiac emergency care, specialising in cardiology.

James has a strong understanding of homelessness and its contributing factors, shaped both by personal lived experience and his work in front-line healthcare settings. His connection to St Petrocs and its mission stems from homelessness, tackling health inequalities and working towards a more sustainable and effective NHS.  He joined the Board of Trustees in September 2024.

James continues to travel and enjoys learning about different cultures and values. James is also passionate about wildlife conservation and is deeply engaged in subjects such as history, geography and environmental sustainability, driven by a commitment to supporting a greener planet and addressing the challenges of climate change.
