  • Resource Centres

Resource Centres

We have two resource centres in Cornwall, one in City Road Truro, and the Breadline Centre, Penzance.

These centres offer those who are at risk of, or currently sleeping rough, support to find accommodation, alongside general advice and access to essential supplies.

What can I access?

Our resource centres are a safe space where you can come and access the one-to-one housing support you need with our experienced staff. Our centres are available as drop-in sessions 6 days a week, with additional appointments made for assessments and other in-depth work.

St Petrocs is about far more than helping you find accommodation.

In our centres, you can also access:

Advice

We can support you with general advice on independent living, preventing homelessness, benefits and housing options.

Clothes

Clothes and sleeping bags

If you need new clothes, we have a clothes store, which has a variety of men's and women's clothes including coats, shoes, shirts, trousers, underwear and socks.

Food

We have food and refreshments available to all in our resource centres, including hot and cold drinks, fresh water, and a selection of food such as pasties, pastries and sandwiches.

In our Truro Resource Centre, we have a kitchen space which runs a lunch club every Friday morning. In Breadline Centre, Penzance, we offer a cooked breakfast everyday excluding Sunday.

Showers and Laundry

We have shower facilities, where you can borrow a towel and have a hot shower with all the products you may need.

There are also washing machines and drying facilities where our staff can wash and dry your clothes and bedding.

GP and health services

Health for Homeless clinics operate in our resource centres, which can support you with any illness or health issues you may be experiencing.

Charging and Wifi

Charge any of your electronics and access our Wifi for free.

A safe space

Visit during our ‘drop-in’ times to relax in a dry and safe environment, with access to entertainment, books and games. We also have a ‘coffee corner’, art group and Women’s Space across our centres.

What to expect

When you walk through the door for the first time at one of our resource centres you'll be entering a non-judgemental environment and will be met by a friendly face who will welcome you and find out what services you need. Your sense of safety and comfort is our priority. All our staff are trained to offer a supportive, respectful environment and will do their best to put you at ease.

If there is something we are not able to directly help with the team are able to refer into other local specialist services, including but not limited to; drug and alcohol, domestic violence, and ex-services personnel. We work with and welcome those who have no resource to public funds and have no entitlement to the majority of welfare benefits.

What info you'll need

If you have any identity documents please bring these with you as they will assist us in the delivery of our services.

However, we will still provide a warm welcome and support regardless of whether you have ID, and in the event your ID has been lost we can help with obtaining duplicate documents.

Please be assured that language is not a barrier, if required we can make provisions to seek an interpreter to help with communications. Pets are not left out either, and we can link in with Streetvet or Dogs Trust if you come with a companion.

By fundraising, we’re seeking to help them to continue this vital work and support more people in building safer, more stable lives.
