Cornish businesses, supporters and St Petrocs’ residents gathered for a morning of networking, connections and a chance to add the final touches to Project Pickle.

On Wednesday, 2nd July, we were delighted to host a Pickle Party – a unique event bringing together supportive Cornish businesses and people with lived experience of homelessness. This unique event was the flagship launch of St Petrocs Piccalilli – a delicious chutney created in collaboration between St Petrocs, Beach Guardian, and our Business Club Member Rick Steins.

The launch party was a vibrant celebration of the collaborative partnership behind the creation of the chutney. It also invited Cornish businesses to make their mark by adding the final touch - labelling the jars of chutney. Guests enjoyed the opportunity to connect while enjoying delicious Welsh rarebit, perfectly complemented by the rich, tangy piccalilli.

We were thrilled to hear about the creation of the pickle from the people at the heart of the project, including Ian Fitzgerald, Managing Director of Rick Stein, Andrew Whittle from Beach Guardian, Lois Wild, Director of Engagement for St Petrocs and a group of St Petrocs’ residents who were involved throughout the entire journey. We were also pleased to see our prominent supporters, including Colonel Edward Bolitho and our Business Club Members, Whyfield, Boosters and Murrells Associates.

Businesses also had the opportunity to take home their own personal jars of chutney, with a suggested donation of £5 per jar.

How you can get involved!

The launch party showcased the incredible impact that businesses can achieve through the St Petrocs Business Club. Every contribution brings us one step closer to ending homelessness in Cornwall. If your business is interested in making a meaningful difference, we invite you to join our mission. Together, we can create lasting change.
